Q. What days do you meet? We meet Tuesday and Thursday for teacher instruction, with at-home work scheduled for Monday and Wednesday. Fridays are a planned free day for families to schedule field trips, additional areas of study, or other extra-curriculars.
Q. What time will you meet and where? We meet from 9:00AM-3:30PM at Capital Church (2760 E Fairview Ave, Meridian, ID 83642).
Q. What curriculum will you use? Our focus is on creative, hands-on teaching. Our instructors continue to tailor curriculum that will best engage our students, bearing in mind the tried-and true-standards that have been effective for years. Curriculum and supply lists for the school year will be available in July.
Q. Is curriculum provided? Families are expected to purchase their own curriculum. That said, we are ever-mindful of costs in our selections and utilize a combination personal purchases and group printing / buys to lower costs. Those utilizing TechTrep or Overture Learning will have the ability to subsidize curriculum with school monies. A $50 per semester supply fee also applies.
Q. What ages will you serve? For the 2019-2020 school year, we will be serving grades K-12. We are asking that students be eligible for their age category by the first day of school, which will be September 10, 2018.
Q. How does it work? Our instruction days are structured with core classes in the mornings and electives in the afternoons. Students have the option of registering for the full-day program or a part time option.
Q. What classes will be provided? Core coursework will focus on history, science, math, language arts, and literature. Electives are focused on the arts, STEM, physical education, and more.
Q. What will it cost? Tuition is $195 per month, paid over 10 months. Families will have the option of utilizing funds from TechTrep or Overture Learning to subsidize tuition. We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Co-op; the tuition is solely to cover the costs of the program.
Q. Can charter funds cover tuition? Yes, concurrent enrollment with TechTrep or Overture Learning will enable families the option of subsidizing their monthly tuition with charter school funds. Want more info about how it works? Watch our webinar here.
Q. Will the classes be ample for transcript credit? We have structured instructional hours and curriculum guidelines to be ample for high school transcript credit. Our program provides feedback on how students are doing in the classes via Progress Reports, but the families will create their own transcripts and grades.
