Stacey is a passionate educator, speaker and award-winning author. Her books include a life-changing Christmas tale, entitled The Glitter Keeper, along with three books she has written regarding education: Insanely-Inspiring Writing Prompts for Littles, Middles & Biggles, FUNology -- The Science of Having Fun!, and her latest -- The Joyful Journey of a Homeschooling Mom . . . A Peek into What I Know for Sure! Stacey has been an educator for over twenty-four years, working primarily with children and youth. She has also spent much of that time empowering women and youth, working on teacher-development projects and parent education. Stacey serves as the Executive Director of Garnet Preparatory Academy, where she is best known as "Miss Stacey." She loves coordinating events of all sizes and is responsible for the formation of several learning cooperatives. Stacey also loves to offer parents support through many different venues, such as workshops, online classes, and conferences. Her Mothers' Retreats are famous for rejuvenating and motivating other homeschooling mothers to avoid the infamous condition of "Mother Burnout." Stacey's greatest joy is being the Mom to a handful-and-a-half of children. She spends her days right alongside them learning and experiencing all this life has to offer. Milkshake dates with her very own Knight-in-Shining-Armor are a weekly treat, and a lifesaver in this crazy and amazing life! If she had one wish come true, she would cover the whole world with glitter in the hope of spreading light and joy for all.

I am a mother of 6, and the biggest thing I have learned being a parent is that these 6 kids were sent here to teach me as much as I teach them. (If not more!) Each one of them has their strengths and weaknesses, and together as a family we try to figure out how to be our best selves each and every day!
I love working with youth. I have spent many hours volunteering as a coach, team mom, Cub Scout leader, and as a youth teacher. They all have so much to look forward to in life, it is exciting to be part of the journey!
I graduated from Ricks College in 1997, and then years later decided that I needed to complete my Bachelors degree. I had two reasons for this; one, it was always a goal of mine, and two, my kids needed to see how important furthering their education is. If I can do it, so can they! In 2013 I graduated from BYUI, and was so excited when I got that diploma in the mail! I love learning and I love to read!
Manda Hardin is an actress and improvisor who is blessed to perform with a variety of local groups, including Treasure Valley Children’s Theater, Open World Comedy, Recycled Minds Comedy, Encore Theatre Company, and others. When not performing on-stage, Manda is often actively involved behind the scenes in set building, prop making, and stage managing as well. As for hobbies, Manda considers herself a dabbler who does a bit of everything and is always on the lookout for a new hobby or skill to learn. She’s been known to spend time baking, canning, cosplaying, decorating cakes, drawing, glass etching, graphic designing, making jewelry, painting, reading, soldering, wielding power tools, writing, and more. If she had to name a nemesis, she’d be torn between dusting and laundry. Manda and her husband, Aaron, live in Nampa with their four kids, two dogs, two cats, a ginormous Plecostomus, and a parakeet with a biting problem. The rooms of their home frequently echo with mom jokes and puns.

Chantal Dougal is a graduate of the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She began her ballroom dance journey when she and Trevor got married in 2006. After graduating from college in 2010, they moved to Nampa, Idaho and were hired to direct the Class Act Ballroom Company at the Impulse Dance Academy. Within 2 years they took over the program and ran it until 2015, when they rebranded to Breakaway Ballroom Studio. Trevor and Chantal have four kids and six chickens :)

I have lived in Idaho for 10 years with my husband and our 3 children. We're entering our 9th year homeschooling and it has been a stretching and draining, yet simultaneously filling and deeply rewarding experience. I love time with my family and friends, the beauty of nature, silliness, biking, stories, whether in a book or a good movie, long romantic walks at Target, photography and finding creative spaces. Photography is very important in my life; it has allowed me to observe people and life around me, and to slow down and look closer. I also love working with kids and teens. I think they're great people who are full of creativity, honesty, and empathy-- and getting to encourage that along is a privilege.

Music / Art / Book Club
I am married and have five children, four whom have graduated high school. I am a published artist, children's book illustrator, and soon will have published and illustrated my own children's book. My love for art came when I was very young. My parents encouraged me to develop my artistic talents and excel in whatever I chose to do. Art has become an outlet for me to express myself by painting all of the beautiful things around me. I am so grateful God has given me this talent. It has helped me overcome many challenges that I have faced in my life. I am super excited to help open up the student's ability to create from within and find joy in their achievements.
April has always been passionate about teaching and education. She has experience as owner and director of a martial arts dojo and dance studio, has led Kindermusik/music appreciation classes, taught elementary school music, directed show choirs including productions with 300+ students, choreographed musicals, and led kids craft classes.
April began her martial arts training by studying and teaching Moo Shim Do, achieving her brown belt by age 14. From there she branched out into Taekwondo, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and Keichu-Do. She has also taught martial arts summer camps and adult self defense classes, and wholeheartedly believes in the benefits of martial arts.
April moved to the Boise area from northern Idaho to start a family pest control company in the valley. When she’s not spraying houses or teaching, you’ll find her hosting her sons friends in their Meridian home or running them to their activities. She also loves being outdoors, working in the garden, cooking, and being the hub for all the neighborhood kids. She looks forward to the opportunity to continue teaching and share her excitement of martial arts and the positive influence it can have with the students here at Garnet Prep.
